Devotions > Hope, Prayer, and Sudden Revival

8 Sep 2010

God is still calling His people to humble themselves and pray, to seek His face and turn from our wicked ways.   He wants us to pray from a position of righteousness and pray for revival.

James 5:16b (NASB95)

“ The effective prayer of a righteous man can accomplish much.”

The prayers He desires are not so much for this nation, though He cares deeply about this nation, but the core of His heart is for His kingdom, His glory and His praise.    He is the Lord of lords and King of all kings!   This is great news for our nation!

We challenge you to pray daily for revival.  Pray with hope from the realization that God desires to bring revival to our communities much more that we desire Him to bring it.    Ask and keep on asking!    Discipline your mind to trust God and Him only for all of your personal, family and our community, and national needs.   Do not allow your heart to be drawn away from complete trust in our faithful God to the horses and chariots or gold of this world.

Lamentations 3:25-26 (KJV)
25 The LORD is good unto them that wait for him, to the soul that seeketh him.
26 It is good that a man should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the LORD
.

Oh, how God knows that we need revival.   Begin to pray in faith thanking God for the revival that is on its way.

Speaking from firsthand knowledge of the revival of 1905 in Edinburgh, Joseph Kempt recorded: “ There was nothing, humanly speaking, to account for what happened.  Quite suddenly, upon one and another came an overwhelming sense of the reality and awfulness of His presence and of eternal things.   Life, death and eternity seemed suddenly laid bare” -  from Revival by Brian Edwards

Keep a close watch …….  revival comes suddenly!
